Packers Hall of Fame Receives Vintage Donations
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame added some vintage items Thursday thanks to the family of one of the team's long-time fans.
John Coppens Sr. donated shoulder pads worn by Pro Football Hall of Famer Johnny "Blood" McNally.
Coppens says McNally gave them to his father at the Green Bay supper club where his dad worked and where he met many of the Packers players from the 30s and 40s.
"I would never sell them, so I thought the best place for people to see them -- for a lot of people to see them -- would be here at the hall of fame,"
Coppens said.
The Coppens family also donated a copy of "Run to Daylight"
autographed by its author, Vince Lombardi; an autographed football from the 1950s; and a Packers sideline coat from the 1930s.
